Course Overview
This interactive webinar workshop aims to equip teachers with essential knowledge and tools regarding food nutrition's impact on students’ health, learning, and overall well-being. Participants will explore innovative nutrition applications designed for children and strategies to incorporate these tools into educational settings.
Facilitator
Ali Hassan, born and raised in the UK and based between Spain and Qatar, has served in numerous roles as a Head of School, PYP/MYP/DP Coordinator, and English teacher in a number of international schools. He is currently a consultant working on school projects globally with recruitment, training and business development. He mentors students on university programmes and serves as a board member for education and charity missions. Ali is actively involved in various IB support roles and contributes to visiting teams for NEASC and CIS. At the age of 17, Ali got involved with Fitness First gyms in the UK and Middle East and worked part-time as a qualified group fitness instructor and personal trainer. He continues working in health and fitness as a hobby independently. Ali advocates for diversity, and wellbeing being fundamental as a priority.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Understand the fundamental principles of nutrition and its importance for student health and academic performance.
- Identify common nutrition applications and resources that can engage students in healthy eating habits.
- Develop strategies for integrating nutrition education into their curriculum and classroom activities.
- Encourage students to make informed food choices and promote a culture of health and wellness in their schools.
Outcome
Upon completion, teachers will gain practical knowledge about nutrition applications and strategies to implement in their classrooms, enhancing students’ awareness of healthy eating.
